But First Coffee was a great place to stop in for coffee. The atmosphere was very welcoming. The owner was very helpful and very knowledgeable about coffee. He was working behind the counter and interacting with guests. This showed that he took pride in But First Coffee. We had great coffee and loved the atmosphere. We would definitely return.

Location: 4.75/5

Upon arriving at But First Coffee, I found it conveniently located right off the main street, making it easy to spot. The directions led directly to the entrance without any detours or confusion, thanks to its clear signage and central location. The parking situation was straightforward as well; there were ample spaces open, so finding a spot was hassle-free even during peak hours. This ease of access added to the welcoming, low-stress atmosphere, setting the tone for a relaxed coffee experience right from the start.
The seating at But First Coffee was thoughtfully arranged to cater to both individuals and groups, offering a mix of cozy chairs and tables of various sizes. Each seating area was spaced well, allowing for personal space without feeling crowded. The chairs and sofa were surprisingly comfortable, with cushioned seats and sturdy backs that invited you to settle in, whether for a quick coffee or a longer work session. The layout also made the café feel open and airy, enhancing its inviting, relaxed atmosphere where one could unwind, work, or chat without interruption.
We arrived about an hour and a half before closing, and while the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, there were a few noticeable signs of the café’s busier hours. Our table, for example, had a few coffee stains that hadn’t been wiped down yet. It seemed that as the day wound down, upkeep may have understandably slipped a bit in the busy environment. However, we did see the team beginning their end-of-day cleaning routine as we prepared to leave. They started tidying tables, wiping down surfaces, and organizing the space, which showed their commitment to ensuring the café was reset and refreshed for the next day. This small detail demonstrated the staff’s attentiveness, even at closing time, and reassured us that cleanliness was a priority, just understandably impacted by the day’s high traffic.

Customer Experience: 5/5

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted, setting a positive tone for our visit. The owner, who welcomed us, was not only friendly but also highly knowledgeable about coffee. They took the time to share insights on the various blends, brewing methods, and flavor profiles on the menu, answering any questions we had with enthusiasm and expertise. Their passion for coffee was evident, making us feel both informed and excited to try something new. The menu was prominently displayed and thoughtfully organized, with clear, legible fonts and simple descriptions that made it easy to browse. We could quickly find what we wanted without any hassle. Additionally, the checkout process was seamless, with staff promptly handling orders and making the experience efficient. They even offered mobile pay options like Apple Pay and Google Pay, which added a layer of convenience, especially for those who prefer contactless payment. This combination of welcoming service, expertise, easy navigation, and modern payment options made the entire ordering process smooth and enjoyable.

Coffee: 5/5

The espresso was smooth, avoiding any bitterness or excessive acidity, while the drip coffee was bright and floral with a hint of fruitiness. The Spanish Latte had a well-balanced, creamy texture, combining whole milk with sweetened condensed milk, and featured lovely latte art. The Flan Iced Latte stood out with a unique, pronounced flan flavor inspired by Spanish influences. Our daughter enjoyed a freshly squeezed-tasting mango juice, a rare treat for her since she's typically selective with drinks. They offer oat, almond, and coconut milk alternatives, and the beans are locally roasted, sourced directly from their own farm. We loved all of our drinks!

Food Choice

While we didn’t try the food, the menu offered an enticing variety, from avocado toast to guava and cheese pastries. Many items feature a Spanish influence, with a balanced mix of sweet and savory options, including both pastries and sandwiches. The selection caters to different tastes, adding a unique twist to classic café fare.

Final Thoughts

But First Coffee provided a warm, family-friendly experience with a welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. The café was easy to find with ample parking, and the interior was well-organized with comfortable seating. The drinks menu was impressive, with smooth espresso, a bright and floral drip coffee, and unique options like the Flan Iced Latte and Spanish Latte. They also offered non-coffee drinks like freshly squeezed mango juice, which our daughter loved. A kid-sized table with toys and books kept our toddler entertained, making it an ideal spot for both relaxing and working alongside family. The food menu included a variety of sweet and savory items with a Spanish flair, catering to diverse tastes.
